Day 3 of the Independence Card Parade

After I made yesterday's card, I looked at my ribbon and thought "Ooooh" and trimmed the ends, folded it, and used the star brad to secure it to the tag.  I liked the look and Viola!   What do you think?

Father's Day... Take 1

As I sat down to create a Father's Day card for my dad, I knew I wanted to use the blue striped patterned paper from the Travel Journal Designer Series Paper in the Summer Mini Catalog as blue is my dad's favorite color.  (This particular pattern reminds me of a Johnny Carson tie I made for my grandpa many years ago.)  Anyway, this is the card I designed, featuring the stamp set Sentimental Journey, also from the Summer Mini Catalog

Supplies
Stamps:  Sentimental Journey
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Travel Journal DSP
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  Linen Thread, Vintage Brad, Stampin' Dimensionals, 1" Circle Punch

Check back tomorrow to see another Father's Day card.

Happy Flag Day!

I made this flag using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up.  My uncle Dean was very patriotic as he served in World War II.  It was 2 years ago today that he passed away.  My aunt JoAnne said it was appropriate that he'd pass away on Flag Day of all days.  He was an awesome man and I'm proud to have been related to him and to have known him so well.

Bookworm

Isn't this little fellow cute?!  I used this image from the First Day stamp set in the new Summer Mini Catalog to make a bookmark.  I thought he'd look cute presented in the white pocket decorated with the Real Red 3/4" Polka Dot Ribbon... one of my favorite ribbons in the Stampin' Up Catalog!  With summer here, everyone could use a bookmark for their leisurely reading!

Supplies
Stamps:  First Day
Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White
Ink:  Basic Brown Classic; Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Green Galore, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue Stampin' Write Markers
Accessories:  Real Red 3/4" Polka Dot Ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch, Big Shot, Stampin' Up Two Tags Die, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

Trendy Trees

This card features the stamp set Trendy Trees.  I took the piece of Old Olive cardstock, scored it to frame the So Saffron piece and tore the edge that I folded up to resemble grass below the trees.  To line up the tree trunks and leaves I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I think the Linen Thread adds to this "nature" card.  I also paper pierced the corners using the mat pack and paper piercer after using the corner rounder punch on the bottom corners of the card.  I really like this color combination and how this card turned out!

Supplies
Stamps:  Trendy Trees
Cardstock:  Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, Old Olive
Ink:  Soft Suede, Old Olive
Accessories:  Linen Thread, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Corner Rounder Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Texture, Texture, Texture!

I bet you are wondering "How in the world did she make that card?"!  Well, I used my Big Shot and the new Stampin' Up Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Summer Mini Catalog on the Bashful Blue Piece after I stamped and colored in the image from Elements of Style (another new stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog).  The resulting effect looks like counted cross stitch in person!  I think this card also has a very vintage look.

Supplies
Stamps:  Elements of Style
Cardstock:  Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo
Ink:  Basic Brown, Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals
